Chemical facial peeling is the removal of the upper dead tissue layers using acidic solutions. The procedure itself implies a processing of the skin upper layer with acidic substances, but excssive corrosive effects, burns and puffiness may be caused due to wrong performing of the procedure.
It should be noted that after deep peeling of the face or laser resurfacing, appearance of redness is a natural reaction.
Some types of procedures require the appearance of burns as a result of the effective removal of dead skin layer. If the treatment has been carried out correctly, the symptoms pass off on their own.
After the peeling, you may see a strong redness; you should also prepare yourself for the emergence of itching, swelling, peeling and the formation of crusts. If you conducted a superficial or medius peeling, then there shall be no such manifestations. If you are the owner of thin and sensitive skin, then you may experience slight redness during the medius or superficial peeling, which can be attributed to the first-degree burns.
The persistent symptoms that last for more than 2-3 days after the session, evidence the development of complications and severe injury of tissues.
In order to minimize light manifestations, you can treat the affected areas with moisturizing creams. You should also pay attention to the products containing panthenol. The general recommendations include the rejection of solariums and prolonged sun exposure, the mandatory use of sun-protection creams, refusal from fatty, spicy and salty foods. It is forbidden to clean your face with soap and alcohol-based lotions.
If the severe injuries had developed as a result of the procedure, then more serious measures are required. You should consult your cosmetician so that he/she would appoint you a remedial measure. It can be produced in the form of an ointment or lotion. It is applied onto the affected area 1-4 times per day. If there has been an infection, the use of disinfectants is recommended together with antibacterial therapy.
You can buy antiseptic and moisturizing agents specifically designed for care after aggressive chemical peels in the pharmacy as well.
If there has been an extensive injury, plasmalifting can be used - tissue repairs by means of injection of own blood plasma.
First, you should prepare your skin for an aggressive cleansing. If there is any damage on the face, acne, blackheads, they should be treated preliminary. It is prohibited to visit solariums and be exposed to the sun for 2 weeks before the procedure. You should also conduct consultation with the cosmetologist prior to the procedure, during which the condition of the covering and the allowable depth of impact is determined.
