1. Preparatory stage. The donor problem area is processed and a marker is applied to mark for the collection of adipose tissue. An anesthetic drug is administered. When the anesthetic begins to act, a sufficient number of fat cells are taken and then placed in a centrifuge. The centrifugation process removes the fat fraction from blood, other cells and impurities.
2. Fat injection. The area of ​​intervention is cleaned of the remnants of cosmetics and treated with an antiseptic, after which the prepared fat is injected into the lip tissue at pre-marked points. 3. Rehabilitation. After the completion of all manipulations, the patient is placed under observation for several hours. During the recovery phase, it is worth taking precautions to avoid complications. Since its own fat has its own characteristics, it takes root well. This can be changed by the effect of low temperature on the lips - it is cold that badly affects the basic properties of fat and impairs its ability to take root.

Also, possible complications include swelling, bruising, and soreness of the lips during the recovery period. This is due to the fact that compared to other fillers, a slightly higher amount of fat is required to achieve a good result. In addition, soreness of the donor area is possible - this is a natural process associated with the collection of adipose tissue from under the skin. Any swelling and pain will disappear at the end of the rehabilitation stage.

When will the lipofilling result be visible?

The first result can be seen within a week after the intervention, as the postoperative edema subsides. The lips during this period may seem a little fuller than necessary, but this is normal. The fat does not completely take root, and a certain part of the cells dies off or is absorbed into the bloodstream in a couple of months. That is, the final result will be noticeable in a few months.

The effect of lipofilling is considered to be eternal, since the bulk of the injected fat will no longer be absorbed. Nevertheless, age-related processes affect not only “native” cells, but also transplanted cells in all areas of the face, so an additional procedure may be required after a few years.

Unlike the introduction of other types of fillers, lipofilling has a longer lasting result. The cost of one lipofilling procedure versus the cost of multiple injections of a different filler may be more justifiable for some patients.
