Mikroabdominoplasty is an operation used to get rid of excess fat at the abdominal wall, pendulous abdomen and hyperinflate skin. With its help, you can radically change the figure of a man, make him more self-assured and save from uncomfortable situations.
This procedure is a major surgery, and it is prescribed only after thorough inspection and analysis. During the examination, the surgeon determines the planned volume of liposuction (removal of fat) and the areas where it is to be performed. The borders of skin graft cutting and method of skin plasty are specified as well. The patient must get answers to all his questions, and should be informed of the main surgery stages, recovery period and possible complications. After agreeing all these things and inspection of the clinical and laboratory analysis results, the date of the procedure is being appointed.
The procedure
Mikroabdominoplasty (abdomen plasty) is performed under general anesthesia. Typically, its length is 2-4 hours.
First, the Klein solution is injected in the area where the thinning of the skin and fat graft is planned. The ultrasonic destruction of hypertrophied fat layer and thinning of it by means of a vacuum lipoaspiration is performed. When this operational stage is being executed, there is almost no damage to blood vessels and nerves. The connective-tissue bands that extend from the front abdominal wall aponeurosis to the inner layer of the skin, penetrating the fatty tissue, remain intact. Upon reaching the desired thickness of the dermal-fat graft, the surgeon proceeds to skin plasty stage. First the skin incision is made above the pubis and around the navel. Upon achieving the graft sufficient mobility, connective-tissue bands are cut from the lower incision. Then a movable graft is pulled down with moderate force. The resulting excess of skin is resected. The navel is sewn to a new location. The lower incision is sutured in layers. The skin is sutured with a continuously absorbable suture. On the first postoperative day , the thin tubes are installed deep into the wound in order to prevent the collection of blood and serous fluid under the graft..
Post operation period
During the first week the patient feels pain in the anterior abdominal wall, which is increasing with movement. In order to create a compression, which is promoting faster recovery, the patient must wear special linen during the first month after abdominoplasty. Also, a limitation of physical activities and sudden movements is recommended for the first 2 - 3 weeks after the surgery. The sutures dissolve on their own for 2-2.5 weeks after the abdomen plasty. he indurations may be palpated for a period of up to 3 months, and a local decrease in sensitivity may be present.
In best case, the full recovery after mikroabdominoplasty takes up to 6 months. The final formation of dermatic scar takes about 10-12 months.
